My Top 5 Lipsticks for Autumn/Winter

dscn1467

So recently I have been particularly obsessed with lipsticks. In my case this means going to Superdrug every Friday and spending more money on makeup than on my groceries. I have a problem. But it also means that I found some really amazing lipsticks in colours that are perfect for autumn and that I will definitely continue wearing during winter time as well. I thought I would show you my top 5 lipsticks to give you some makeup inspiration. And if you are looking for new lipsticks then you will already know that these ones are really good!

So here are some swatches of all five lipsticks to give you an overview, and then I will write down the names and exact colours separately. (The order is the same as in the first picture!)

  1. Rimmel: The Only One Matte Lipstick – 200 Salute

This is probably the lipstick that I have been using the most. It is the perfect blush-nude matte colour, and the most longlasting lipstick I’ve used so far. It will stay on your lips for hours and hours, you might only need to reapply a little bit after you’ve eaten, but that is true for all lipsticks. So it is perfect for long days at work or uni. Also, this one smells incredible! To me, all lipsticks smell nice, but this one is especially lovely!

2. Maybelline: Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick – 50 Nude Thrill

This one is a really nice, bit more orange/brown-ish nude. It feels amazing on the lips, very soft and moisturizing. The only bad thing about this is that after you put it on you need to remove the excess to make it matte. But it is very longlasting and I absolutely love it!

3. Rimmel: The Only One Lipstick – 700 Naughty Nude

This one is a bit darker nude, and also a more pink-blush kind of colour. I know, four out of five of my favourite lipsticks are from Rimmel, but it is literally the only brand that I completely trust when it comes to lipsticks. I just love all of their colours and the quality is very good. And this new line called The Only One contains the most gorgeous lipsticks!

4. Rimmel: The Only One Lipstick – 800 Under My Spell

I have been looking for a berry-coloured lipstick, and when I came across this one I couldn’t resist it! I think the colour is absolutely gorgeous, and the lipstick feels very light-weight, not thick or sticky at all. You can’t even feel it on your lips, which is a good thing for me when it comes to darker colours. Perfect for autumn and also winter, I will definitely be wearing this colour, if not every day then every weekend at least!

5. Rimmel: Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick – 30

I’ve had this lipstick since last autumn, and I have been loving it since then! I do not wear this everyday as it is quite dramatic, but I think it’s perfect around the christmas time when you don’t really want to go for the bright red but rather dark burgundy kind of colour. I also bought a lipliner to go with this, and I would recommend you to do the same if you are not 100% comfortable with putting on dark lipsticks. Remember: practice makes perfect! 😉

I hope you all enjoyed this blog post! Let me know what lipsticks are your favourites for autumn/winter time, I’d love to know! Also let me know if you would like to see more posts like this in the future because I love doing them!

Tomorrow is the 1st of December! Who’s excited for opening advent calendars and watching Vlogmas videos every day? I definitely am 🙂 Hope you all have a lovely couple of weeks leading up to Christmas!

Pieces of Inspiration #2

The time has come for the second post in my Pieces of Inspiration series. I have to say though, that most of these thoughts weren’t inspired by happiness. Some of them were written in my worst moments, when I was upset and hurt. And some of them are reflecting how my motivation and confidence managed to come through to the surface. It is definitely very personal, but probably some of you will relate. So I hope you enjoy this post!

“Sometimes you need to break in order to build yourself up again. And sometimes you need to be left alone to find the people who belong in your life.”

“Care about yourself enough to walk away from anything that doesn’t build you, nurture you, or make you happy. You have the right to do what’s best for you. Don’t stay if you’re hurting. You don’t owe an explanation. You only owe yourself to do everything you can to be happy.”

“Leaving is a form of art. And I’ve left enough times to master it. How to say goodbye without hurting, how to get on a plane without feeling guilt and how to walk away without looking back. Because when you’re in the air, above the clouds, there is no way back. You need to leave in the appropriate way to be able to let go. Because if you don’t… you will never be free.”

“A best friend is not necessarily someone you spend all your time with. It can be someone you rarely see. Because they are always with you in your heart. You can feel their love from a thousand miles away. The thought that there is someone who accepts you and loves you no matter what, is more than enough.”

“Sometimes you will be hurt by the people whose love you need the most.”

“Forgive yourself for making mistakes. They only prove that you are human. And they make you learn, they make you grow as a person.”

“Not everyone will believe that the path you have chosen to follow is the right one. Some people will try to get in your way and stop you. They will never really believe in you. So you have to believe in yourself.”

Everyday Makeup Tutorial for Autumn

In this week’s video I’m showing you how I do my makeup everyday during autumn. This is one of my favourite makeup looks as it is very easy to do, it is long lasting and I looove the colours.

Here’s a list of the products I used:

img_7281

  • Rimmel Fix & Protect Makeup Primer

As I said in the video this is such a good primer, it really makes a difference in how long your makeup lasts. Amazing!

  • Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation in light porcelain
  • Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer in porcelain
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in transparent
  • Powder Brush from Alicia de Silva (Müller)

I wanted to feature my new powder brush in this video / blog post, because it was a bargain! I really needed a big brush, and when I saw this for about  £6 / 6,5€ I had to buy it. I wasn’t disappointed at all, I think it is perfect. You can find it in Müller stores in Europe.

IMG_7283.JPG

Wow. So many recent puchases in this picture! (Also, I am so happy with how this photo turned out, isn’t it aesthetically pleasing?!)

  • Catrice Eyebrow Set

As I have recently started getting more into makeup, I have to admit that this is my first eyebrow product in a powder form. I know… it was just about time for me to get something like this, and I chose this one because the colours looked nice, it had a brush as well, and it was not expensive. And I absolutely love it! It’s nice to have the choice of two colours, because sometimes I feel like doing my eyebrows quickly with the lighter one, and sometimes I feel like creating really dark and bold eyebrows, and this is good for both.

  • Catrice Eyebrow Filler Gel
  • Catrice Prime and Fine Eyeshadow Base

Believe it or not, this is also my first eyeshadow primer. I used to think that it was enough to put some foundation or CC cream on my eyelids as a base, but I was completely wrong! Since I started using this, my eyeshadow literally doesn’t go anywhere during the day and the application is also easier.

  • Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

This palette was also a bargain, from a Rossmann store. It was on sale, and I needed a new eyeshadow palette with natural colours. These eyeshadows are very nice and pigmented, I was really satisfied!

  • Rimmel Eyeshadow Palette

I’ve had this palette for quite a while now, it just has some really nice colours that I like to use not only for autumn, but all year round as well.

  • Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara in intense black (forgot to put this in the photo – sorry!)
  • Rimmel Kate Face Palette
  • Avon Perfectly Matte Lipstick in au natural

This lipstick is really good quality and it was soooo cheap! It feels soft and moisturising on the lips, it doesn’t make them dry. Very long lasting as well, it doesn’t come off at all when you eat or drink. Perfect for every day!

Hope you enjoy the video, please let me know in the comments what kind of makeup you like to do for autumn or what colours you prefer! And don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel to see more videos from me.

Dear Diary #1 – Going back to university

Dear Diary is going to be the most personal series on my blog. Writing a diary has always been very important to me, so I wanted to share a version of it with you. I really want my blog to be 100% real so I feel like it’s important that I share the things that I care about and show you what my life really is. So this series is going to be really casual, I’m going to pretend that I’m just writing my diary, and I hope that you will all like it.

01.10.2016

Dear Diary,

I was planning my first post in this series to be a really nice and cheesy one about my adventures in the summer, how much fun I had and how amazing it is to go back to uni. But the truth is I don’t really feel that way anymore.

Yes, I did have an amazing summer – I went to visit one of my best friends in Croatia, who lives literally 2 minutes away from the beach, then I was lucky enough to introduce her to my home country. In September I had the opportunity to go to France for two weeks, and then I spent two more weeks at home in Hungary with my family and my friends. I consider myself really lucky and am grateful for everything that happened even though the summer was not only about sunshine and having fun. Whenever you are supposed to have the best time of your life something can always go wrong, anxiety can come into the picture or the people you love can disappoint you. This is just how life works and we all need to accept that.

I choose to remember only the positive parts of my journey and so I let go of the parts of the summer that I didn’t really enjoy. I made mistakes and I learned from them, I grew as a person, and now it’s time to move on. I am back in my home away from home – in England, and I wanted to tell you how I feel about it.

teljes-kepernyo-rogzitese-2016-10-04-230636-bmp
instagram: @patriciavisz

During the travel and moving process I was feeling quite nervous for two reasons. Firstly, as an international student it is so difficult and stressful for me to move to university – who knows when my suitcases or boxes will disappear, or when my plane will be late and I miss my bus or I lose my wallet or my passport or ANYTHING. The second reason is that this time I didn’t actually want to leave Hungary. I had such a nice time at home, just chilling and watching TV shows with my little family. People have told me that it gets more and more difficult to leave home every year, but I never understood why. Now I realised that as time goes by, your visits at home will always get shorter because of work, and you will never spend as much time with your family as you used to, and you will never live at home again.

Last year it was completely different. It was sooo exciting not knowing the place where I would live for the next couple of years, and I didn’t fully process the thought that I would be completely alone in a foreign country. There was no point thinking about it – I knew that I just had to do it. When I arrived in England it was magical to explore a new town and get to know new people completely on my own. Don’t get me wrong, I was stressed out a lot, but it all happened so quickly that I didn’t have time to worry. Well, this year the magic has disappeared and all that was left for me was stress.

Fortunately everything went well on my way to England, I moved into my new room and it all seemed perfect. But it takes time for stress to go away, especially if you are at the beginning of an even more stressful period of time – like the second year of university, in my case.

teljes-kepernyo-rogzitese-2016-10-04-230640-bmp
instagram: @patriciavisz

I want to concentrate on the positive side of things and appreciate what I have. So even if it has been a very stressful couple of days for me, I am still very happy to be back in England. I will never forget that coming here was a dream of mine that I managed to accomplish. To this day, whenever I start thinking about how lucky I am to be here I get butterflies in my stomach and start smiling by myself like an idiot. I am also very motivated to study what I am interested in, and basically just to make the most out of my time here. My ambition is what allowed me to come here and I know that it will also help me succeed in everything that I want to achieve in my life.

So I am looking forward to starting university and work next week; I am feeling so motivated and grateful to be in this position. Let’s work hard, let’s be positive, let’s do this!

So this was my first Dear Diary post, pure honesty and the real me. Not everything is perfect, but you always have to find some positivity and concentrate on that. I hope you have enjoyed a bit of insight into my life, and I hope you will like my Dear Diary posts in the future as well.

Dramatic Autumn Makeup Tutorial

In this video I’m showing you how I do a bit more dramatic makeup look during autumn. I always like using brown and gold eyeshadows, but this time I also used a liquid liner and a dark lipstick to make the look more dramatic. I think the colour of the lipstick is perfect for autumn! I would also recommend Rimmel for lipsticks that are almost matt – I have three from this same range and they are all incredibly longlasting and amazing colours. Make sure to use a lipliner if you’re not very comfortable with using dark lipsticks.

Here’s a list of all the products that I used:

IMG_7161.JPG

  • Avon Ideal Flawless CC cream in ivory
  • Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation in light porcelain
  • Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer in porcelain
  • Rimmel Stay Matt Powder in transparent
  • Catrice Prime and Fine Professional Contouring Palette
  • Avon Blush

IMG_7164.JPG

  • Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hrs Gel-cream Eyeshadow in On and On Bronze.
  • Catrice Eyeshadow in Gold Out
  • Catrice Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette
  • Catrice Liquid Liner
  • Maybelline Push Up Drama Mascara
  • Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 30
  • Rimmel Lip Liner in 105 Under My Spell

I used the same makeup brushes as usual – this set that I ordered from amazon. Here’s the link if you’re interested:

Hope you’re all having an amazing autumn so far!
